Initiate`s client is the UK subsidiary of Europe`s leading tracking and telematics company, headquartered in Stuttgart, which is responsible for selling telematics systems on a pan-European basis. They are wholly owned subsidiary of the DaimlerChrysler worldwide automotive group, who manufacture Mercedes-Benz cars and trucks.
Job Role
The role is to sell the tracking and telematics system to fleets of under 50 vehicles who are purchasing some new Mercedes-Benz trucks such that the system is factory fitted to those new trucks. The successful candidate will then be responsible for managing the account to persuade the customer to fit the system to the other trucks they operate, regardless of make or model. To be successful the job holder will be required to work very closely with the truck sales key account managers and salesmen within the dealerships. The role will contain a significant training and education element. The truck salesmen will need educating on an on-going basis about the benefits of the solution and will require detailed training in its operation. There will also be an on-going job of persuading them about the benefits of the solution to their customers, to encourage them to talk actively about it, which almost none do today.
Candidate Profile
A young, dynamic, individual who is capable of grasping the technical workings of what is a complex computer system and then being able to explain it in layman`s terms to non-technical people. The successful candidate will need to be able to understand to a high level modern communications technologies, Internet delivered data and in-truck electronics. The candidate must be an effective communicator capable of presenting the system`s benefits to senior people within customer`s organisations as well as being able to give presentations and training to internal DaimlerChrysler staff. The candidate must have significant experience of working in telematics industry, ideally with trucks, and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the technologies used.
Package
Salary negotiable but probably circa 30-35K + bonus based on sales target Mercedes-Benz C Class car, 25 days annual leave, pension
