In a laboratory environment ensure that the staging & lab testing is undertaken correctly & in the proper sequence. Must have over 5 years practical experience in the installation of active networks in medium & large data centres. Experience of Cisco Catalyst products, including CatOS & IOS command line, Layer 4-7 content switching, Layer 2*3 Inter-VLAN switching, redundancy & high availability for Supervisor modules, communication via console or Telnet connection, GBIC & SFP modules, visual diagnostics & troubleshooting, Network test equipment like SmartBits, & diagnostic equipment. Interact with server farm integration teams to ensure proper server connectivity, redundancy, load-balancing & Layer 4-7 content filtering along with active kit & patch cable installation & labelling, & modification of installation drawings, connection diagrams & wire run lists to reflect the as-built configuration.
Should have previous MOD experience & knowledge of MOD working practices . They should also have a working knowledge of JSP480 & JSP 440 plus CIDA & SCIDA rules along with Active Network troubleshooting skills. Experience of assigning tasks & supervising small teams of 2-3 junior level installation engineers would be beneficial as would Network testing experience using predefined test procedures.
Must have a keen attention for detail with the ability to follow a plan & Statement of Work instructions & to accurately complete installation documentation & test reports.
