Perl Web Programmer- £25-30K + bonus + benefits
Perl Programmer with experience writing web applications in Object Oriented Perl and mod_Perl is required for my client. In addition to Perl, experience in Apache configuration is necessary, as is Unix (preferably FreeBSD) experience with good troubleshooting skills. Experience in Template Toolkit and CVS are desirable, but not required.
The successful candidate will be an experienced programmer with specific expertise in writing web applications in Object Oriented Perl. You will also have experience of working with and troubleshooting our core web technologies of Perl, Apache, mod_Perl and Unix. We expect you will be a natural multi-tasker with the communication skills that are necessary to work closely with members of other departments.
The role will involve the following tasks: Develop new projects using OO Perl and Apache*mod_Perl; Rapidly diagnose and fix problems within existing code; Take the lead in troubleshooting website issues as they arise.
