Computer Consultant
Small Westchester based IT consulting firm looking for full time Computer Consultant for fast paced exciting job. Onsite and remote install, support, upgrades for clients in tri-state area. Three years experience in Windows 2003/2008 Server, AD, Exchange, firewall, VPN, DSL/T1/Cable broadband config, backup required. Salaried position, health benefits and vacation. Get in on ground floor of fast growing firm. Vehicle required.
The individual that fills this position MUST be self motivated and have the ability to research and troubleshoot problems on their own. You will work under the guidance of a senior engineer, but will largely be working on your own, onsite at clients. You must have the ability to work well with clients in a professional manner. This position is the PERFECT opportunity to be exposed to and work with industry standard solutions, as well as join a firm where the sky is the limit. The perfect candidate has been working with computers for years, and has some formal training. Skills must include the following:
• Can multi task several clients and projects at the same time
• Can apply service packs and hotfixes to workstations and servers
• Expert at spyware and virus removal
• Can add printers (both shared and IP)
• Reinstall operating system (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2003/2008 Server)
• Install Applications
• Swap/add components to servers/workstations
• Configure DSL/Cable connections with DHCP for smaller networks
• Configure POP/IMAP email accounts
• Understanding of the following:
o Backup/Restore technology
o Firewall and VPN technology
o Email servers
o Web hosting
Candidate must have car and a license in good standing, and will travel (almost) daily to clients within 15 miles of office in Westchester. Full time salaried position with health benefits and vacation, cell phone and laptop provided. Will train the right person to know everything that needs to be done to install/support a network of less than 100 users. Will reimburse for MCSE/CCNA/CCNP testing and study materials.
Again, you MUST be self motivated and MUST have EXCELLENT troubleshooting skills.
4 year degree, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP big plusses!
