Assistant Controller:
We are seeking a highly detailed accounting professional to assist in managing all aspects of the company’s financial operations. Reporting to the Controller, this position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the monthly close. Major responsibilities will also include financial reporting to management, accounting reconciliations, federal and state taxes, and the implementation of internal controls. This is a high-profile role with an opportunity to make a significant impact on a quickly growing company.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years experience in accounting within the media, advertising, technology or publishing industries. Additional requirements include:
• 7+ years of corporate finance experience with progressive growth in responsibilities
• CPA certification required plus strong technical GAAP practical experience
• Experience in preparing organizations for an annual audit
• Managing the General Ledger and preparing monthly financial statements and forecasts
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
• Experience in Sarbanes Oxley implementations and processes
• Experience in upgrading from QuickBooks to a more robust accounting system
• Expert-level Excel skills (Access or SQL experience a huge plus)
• Experience in a high growth environment
• Strong communication skills
• Related industry experience a huge plus
