One of the world’s leading brand implementation firms, specialized in developing and rolling-out global signage & wayfinding systems, is looking for a full-time Industrial Designer / Design Engineer for its New York office. As a key member of a multi-disciplined project delivery team (designers, product managers, account managers, etc), you will be responsible for the technical design and engineering of 3D brand elements such as signage and other fixtures, often optimizing them for volume production. A background in consumer product design and/or light engineering would be an advantage.
Minimum requirements are:
• Proven success in taking concept designs forward into technical specifications and prototyping
• A sound knowledge of a broad range of materials and manufacturing technologies both plastics and metals used in light engineering
• Able to work in a team with good communications skills, oral and verbal
• Experienced in supplier sourcing, qualification and management
• High competency in CAD systems – prefer Solidworks and AutoCAD
• Good knowledge of MS Office Suite
• Ability to work under pressure and on multi-tasks, independently or within a team
• Diligent, detail oriented, patient and thorough
• At least 7 years experience
• Bachelor degree
