PDS is a computer support and consulting firm serving a steady base of clients in the metropolitan New York area for over 25 years. Clients are primarily small businesses in the Real Estate and Legal field. The firm installs, and maintains specialized and off-the-shelf software and hardware solutions to these and other vertical markets.
Job Title: Field Support Network Technician
Provide field installation and support for metro NYC networks, desktop PC’s, Internet connectivity, and software applications. Install and maintain Widows XP/Vista PC`s, Windows 200x networks and email systems. Install and repair workstation, server, cabling, and application problems. Install and maintain Internet connectivity, VPN remote access, and network security systems.
Job Requirements:
Must be organized, attentive, and able to communicate clearly and effectively, and have excellent troubleshooting skills and experience with a broad range of systems and products.
Must have an automobile to use for local travel to client sites – All expenses reimbursed.
Must have at least three years paid experience performing at least the following tasks:
• Installing. troubleshooting, and maintaining:
- Windows XP/Vista/NT/2000 operating systems
- Common desktop applications (MS Office, Outlook, Quickbooks, PC Anywhere, VPN and Citrix access, Adobe, etc..)
- Windows 200x Servers and Terminal Services.
- MS Exchange Server 5.5 and 200x, and Blackberry Enterprise Server
- Backup Exec backup software tools
- MS Active Directory in a multiple-server configuration.
• Installing and repairing UTP network cabling.
• Installing and troubleshooting IDE, SCSI , RAID storage devices
• Installing and troubleshooting Internet communications with broadband Internet routers, firewalls, VPN tunnels, IPsec VPN clients, POP email, DNS, and DHCP, NAT, etc..
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Microsoft MCSA/MCSE certifications
Installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining:
- Sonicwall and Cisco firewalls/routers
- MS Forefront & NOD32 security products
- Citrix Server
- Linux OS
Salary commensurate with experience - Range $55-60k
