Position: Sales Designer and Lead Management Coordinator
Who we are:
• Plexi-Craft designs, manufactures and sells high-end acrylic (Lucite®, Plexiglas®, et al) furniture, fixtures, and displays.
• We have been in business for over 40 years and have a large customer base loyal to us for our custom capabilities and high quality craftsmanship.
• Our offices, factory and showroom were recently moved to a new and expanded facility in Long Island City, directly accessible to Manhattan.
• Our customers are leading designers, architects, and decorators; luxury retailers, hotels, and restaurants; and design-conscious consumers.
• Plexi-Craft is about to launch exciting new web site, direct marketing, and social media campaigns.
• We are expanding our staff to handle the influx of new business.
The Position:
• As sales designer, you will field inquiries, work with the prospects to design and price projects, follow through with prospects to close sales.
• As lead management coordinator, you will utilize your experience with CRM/lead management software and Microsoft Office Suite to develop and roll-out a lead tracking program for Plexi-Craft.
• You will report directly to the owner of the company.
• This is a full-time position at our Long Island City location. No relocation package.
• Compensation includes base salary and bonus. Salary commensurate with relevant experience and capabilities.
Who you are:
• Passion for high-end design. Ideally you have experience working in the design industry with or for designers, architects, or custom manufacturers, but this is not a requirement.
• Fluent in all Microsoft Office applications and the use of such programs for efficient and effective communications with clients and colleagues.
• Expert in managing leads, from recording contact info at initial inquiry through follow up calls both pre- and post-sales. You are an ace user of one of the top lead management/CRM applications: ACT!, Goldmine, and/or Salesforce.com.
• Sufficiently adept at math/geometry to sketch, calculate surface area, and price custom designs.
• Positive and motivating influencer in your work environment. Your colleagues enjoy working with you and find your enthusiasm infectious. You are excited about contributing to the growth and profitability of your company.
• Organized with great attention to detail. You establish and meet schedules and follow-up on actions with customers and colleagues.
• Patient and composed when working with customers, exhibiting excellent listening and consultative skills.
• Effective, responsible, and consistent worker requiring minimal day-to-day supervision.
• Honest, ignore short-cuts, do not over-promise yet seek to over-deliver; represent your product and employer fairly.
