Position: Senior Network / Virtualization / Storage Engineer
Reports To: Engineering and Services Delivery Manager
Location: New York, NY
General Position Description: The engineer will work on installations, projects, service requests and day to day office tasks. In addition he/she will be a point of contact for all service requests. This position includes but is not limited to the following duties:
• Install, Configure, Manage, and Maintain entire Virtualized and Storage networks
• Lead on Network, Virtualization, and Storage Projects
• Manage licensing, support, and maintenance programs
• Oversee and respond to customer installation and support issues
• Troubleshoot problems and respond with recommendations, patches, or upgrades as appropriate
• Provide Training to customer and support staff on system installation and operation
• Handle tasks in our managed services platform
• Participate in the Pre Sales Cycle
• Open and assign service requests
• Check clients networks
• Answering incoming phone calls
• Handle all levels of service tickets
• Participate in a weekly after hours on-call rotation
• Develop and update user and technical documentation
• Support in-house network as needed

Qualifications:
• Associates degree or equivalent experience
• Willingness to learn and adapt to constantly changing industry
• LAN/WAN Engineering (CCNA or Equivelent Experience), Experience with Cisco 4500 series switches a plus
• Virtualization / Storage Design
• Experience designing, evaluating and recommending network and virtualized solutions
• Experience in the IT industry
• Experience working with virtualization and storage vendors
• Experience with large network integration projects
Demonstrated success working in collaborative team project with excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to logically troubleshoot
• Ability to document solutions to problems
• Experience with Red Hat Linux
• VMWare certifications (VCP or Equivalent Experience) (Highly Desired) or equivalent experience, HP Networking Certifications (Highly Desired), Cisco Certifications, MCSE or equivalent experience, HP LeftHand SAN certifications or any other industry certifications are helpful.
Training Objectives:
• Learn internal systems through hands on and web based training
• Achieve advanced certifications and specializations from VMWare and HP LeftHand
• Achieve certification on the HP networking Platform
