ROLE/RESPONSIBILITY:
A highly innovative and exciting New York-based startup is seeking an experienced classification architect to join its team and take the lead in developing content classification and sentiment analysis products.
The candidate will be expected to excel in an unstructured environment with a great deal of responsibility. The candidate will join a first-class, seasoned team with significant startup experience, consisting of PhD’s from top technology companies and having previously raised tens of millions in venture capital from tier one VC’s. The company is currently self-funded.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Significant experience developing content classification and sentiment analysis algorithms
- Significant experience in feature selection and feature extraction from training data sets
- Significant Experience in development with C++/Linux
- Experience in large scale system development
- Experience in processing large data set
- Knowledge in machine learning, data mining, clustering and information retrieval would be a definitely plus.
- Coding experience a definite plus
- Comfortable in a startup, self-directed environment
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
• BS degree or equivalent, MS or PhD preferred
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
• Must be detailed oriented
COMPENSATION
Until the company raises its first round of funding, compensation will be solely in the form of options / equity in company. The expected timing of raising capital will be Q4 2009. If you have the ability to work part time on such a project, this is a rare opportunity to join a truly disruptive startup in the early stages.
